In reference to World Environment Day, the Court of Accounts of the State of Pará (TCE-PA), through the Alberto Veloso School of Accounts (Ecav), promoted a round table discussion entitled “Reflections on Sustainability: the Courts of Accounts, challenges and global perspectives in the Amazon”.
President Counselor Rosa Egídia Crispino C. Lopes opened the event highlighting the importance of reflecting on the role of public power in promoting an ecologically balanced environment. The president emphasized the crucial role of the Courts of Accounts in the collective journey towards sustainable development.
The event featured the participation of the Counselor of the Court of Accounts of the State of Amazonas (TCE-AM), Júlio Assis Corrêa Pinheiro, who spoke about environmental control and the role of the Courts of Accounts. Environmental consultant Fábio Feldmann, author of article 225 of the Federal Constitution of 1988, dedicated to the protection of the environment, discussed the major current environmental crises.
The 30th Edition of the United Nations Conference on Climate Change 2025 (COP 30), which will be hosted in Belém, was also a topic of the meeting.
