The Government of Pará delivers more than 600 technology equipment to strengthen environmental services
On Thursday, March 2nd, the Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat of Environment and Sustainability (Semas), delivered over 600 IT items to the Rural Technical Assistance and Extension Company of the State of Pará (Emater) and the Land Institute of Pará (Iterpa). Among the equipment are monitors, multifunction printers, navigation GPS, geodetic GPS, external hard drives, and software, which will strengthen institutional management and provide greater efficiency to the services provided by these institutions.
The delivery took place at the Government Palace, with the presence of the head of the state executive and authorities. Governor Helder Barbalho emphasized the importance of incorporating technology into environmental services to improve the speed of actions and ensure sustainable development in the state.
The equipment was acquired by the Executor Nucleus of the Green Municipalities Program, an agency linked to Semas, with resources from the Amazon Fund. The items destined for Semas, such as multifunction printers and monitors, will be delivered to the 62 municipalities that have joined the Environmental Licensing System (Sislam), also financed by the Amazon Fund.
The Secretary of Environment and Sustainability of Pará, Mauro O’de Almeida, emphasized that the equipment will benefit the municipalities participating in Sislam, which will receive 100 printers and computers to facilitate environmental licensing. The President of Iterpa, Bruno Kono, stated that the equipment will strengthen land regularization actions, making the provision of public services more agile and efficient.
The President of Emater, Joniel Abreu, also celebrated the arrival of the equipment, which will allow the expansion of the work developed by the company and ensure greater efficiency in the provision of public services.
The Green Municipalities Program project, financed by BNDES/Amazon Fund, had almost R$10 million invested for actions carried out by Semas, Iterpa, and Emater throughout the entire project execution period. The project’s success demonstrates the State’s ability to act jointly between agencies, and the Director-General of NEPMV, Jaqueline de Carvalho Peçanha, highlighted that the project will serve as a successful case for future investments in environmental management in Pará.
In addition, the Government of Pará also has other mechanisms for capturing resources to promote investments in environmental management, such as the Eastern Amazon Fund, which is a climate financing vehicle based on private collaborations, aimed at strengthening public policies and social initiatives focused on the environment and development.
