World Environment Day: Governor Reinforces Partnerships in Brasília

The governor of Pará, Helder Barbalho, celebrated World Environment Day in Brasília, where he reinforced partnerships for the 30th United Nations Conference on Climate Change, COP 30, which will be held in November 2025 in Belém.

The governor of Pará, Helder Barbalho, celebrated World Environment Day in Brasília, where he reinforced partnerships for the 30th United Nations Conference on Climate Change, COP 30, which will be held in November 2025 in Belém. During an official ceremony of the Presidency of the Republic, President Luís Inácio Lula da Silva signed the decree creating a national council to discuss the conference.

The governor emphasized that Pará’s vocation is to take care of its forest and its people, and that the state has a great opportunity to lead the environmental agenda. He also highlighted the partnership between the Government of Pará and the federal government in preparing Belém to host the world conference in 2025, and the Amazon Summit, which will take place in August of this year.

The Minister of Cities, Jader Filho, confirmed the Ministry’s commitment to provide all support to Pará. He stated that the partnership between the federal, state and municipal governments is focused on making Belém even more beautiful and prepared to host the largest climate change event on the planet.
