The Training Center aims to meet the demands of local communities, government organizations, research, teaching and extension institutions, civil society and companies in the forestry sector. The activity began on Monday (16), with a period of 60 days for the presentation of the results. For this phase of physical infrastructure, in addition to demarcating and signaling the boundaries of the area, the preparation of the basic and executive project is also planned for the 2023 financial year.

The estimated investment value for these stages reaches R$ 2.6 million, transferred by the Brazilian Forest Service (SFB), which manages federal forest concessions, and from existing federal forest concessions in the State.

The Forest Management Training Center is an initiative of the Government of Pará, carried out through Ideflor-Bio, in an area of approximately 34 thousand hectares, for the construction of the physical structure of the Center, supported by State Decree No. 105/2011 .

Inventory  – According to Gracialda Ferreira, head of the Public Forest Management Board, the first step towards building the Center was taken with the Sample Forest Inventory, which started in 2021 and should be completed in the first half of 2023.

“The study is one of the obligatory prerequisites for areas with forests to be properly managed, guiding the execution of management plans, forestry studies, training and other activities involving teaching, research and extension. The execution of the Forestry Inventory will provide estimates that guide future actions, which include intervention in the forest, as well as measures to maintain sustainable production”, highlighted the director.
