Semas extends deadline for those interested in recovering native vegetation

The Secretariat for the Environment and Sustainability (Semas) announces to interested parties, through a public call notice, the extension of the registration period until next Sunday (15) for the formation of the Working Group for the Elaboration of the State Plan for the Recovery of Native Vegetation of the State of Pará (GT Planveg). According to the notice, representatives of the private sector, third sector, research institutions and organizations representing indigenous peoples and quilombolas, in addition to traditional peoples and communities, can participate, with the provision of theoretical reference, research and data according to axes of action of the plan.

Planveg is an instrument of the State Program for the Recovery of Native Vegetation with the objective of articulating, integrating and promoting projects and actions that induce the recovery of forests and other types of native vegetation, contributing to the reduction of net emissions, through the sequestration of Greenhouse Gases (GHG).

In the new organization chart of events signed by the Acting Secretary of Semas, Raul Protázio Romão, this Wednesday (11) and published in the Official State Gazette today, in addition to the deadline for registration being postponed to January 15, the analysis documental will be carried out between the 16th and 18th of this month and the provisional disclosure of the qualified representations will be disclosed on the 19th of January.

The publication also points out that the period for receiving appeals, by electronic mail (e-mail), will take place between January 20th and 22nd and the result of requests for reconsideration will be announced on the 24th. of January.

Preparatory meetings to identify challenges and opportunities, map restoration actions underway in Pará, promote workshops for the construction of the State Plan for the Recovery of Native Vegetation and propose a draft of the plan are among the attributions of the Working Group (GT Planveg).

Axes of action – Social participation (raising society’s awareness of the benefits arising from the recovery of native vegetation); chain of inputs and services (fostering the chain of inputs and services that consider presuppositions of the local bioeconomy and socio-biodiversity, related to the recovery of native vegetation); institutional and regulatory arrangements (improvement of the regulatory environment and increased legal certainty for the recovery of native vegetation); technical assistance and rural extension (expansion of services aimed at recovering native vegetation); monitoring system (structuring of the planning and remote sensing system in order to support decision-making, with the aim of recovering native vegetation); research, development and innovation (fostering research, development and innovation in techniques related to the recovery of native vegetation), and rural credit (support for the creation of rural credit lines aimed at recovering native vegetation) are part of the axes of performance contemplated in the State Plan for the Recovery of Native Vegetation.
