  • Since its launch, in October 2021, until now, Banpará-Bio has already made more than R$ 17 million available for investment in sustainable productive activities in the state.

The line of financing, which is part of the Sustainable Territories Program, which is part of the Amazônia Agora Plan (PEAA), executed by the Secretariat for the Environment and Sustainability of Pará (Semas), is one of the strategies of the Government of Pará to strengthen productivity in the field with the maintenance of the forest standing. In all, 101 credit operations have already been carried out, mostly for small rural producers, including family farmers.

My family and I had the dream of having a cocoa plantation and through Banpará-Bio we managed to make it come true. I was one of the first producers in Tucumã to get the financing and with the investment, I was able to plant 5,376 cocoa trees, in addition to implementing my tractor and expanding my other productions. This incentive only came to add up, allowing me to take a very big leap in my production and I can only thank you for the investment and guidance. This incentive means that we, producers, can expand our work” , emphasizes Tássio Arraes, a cocoa producer in the municipality of Tucumã and one of the beneficiaries in the state with the Banpará-Bio financing line.

With attractive rates and the possibility of a supplementary guarantee offered by the Guarantor Fund for Small Rural Producers and Industry for Bioeconomy (FGPPIB), the line gains prominence with the implementation of Agroforestry Systems (SAFs), planting and management of cocoa, palm oil and açaí, in addition to sustainable livestock, including as financeable items those associated with the recovery of environmental liabilities, the optimization of land use and the improvement of productivity per area, which strengthens the containment of the advance of deforestation.

Aware of its role as a financial agent for the economic, social and sustainable development of the State, Banpará has constantly sought to create lines of credit that truly favor the social and environmental transformation of Pará. Banpará-Bio was born with this perspective of encouraging activities based on sustainability, generating growth for the State while taking care of the current and future generations” , highlights João Bernardo Lima, Director of Control, Risk and Investor Relations at Banco do Estado of Pará (Banpará).

Small and medium-sized rural producers, including family farmers, can access the line, available at all Banpará branches, which guarantees a financing amount of up to R$ 250,000, with a maximum payment term of 12 years and a grace period of up to 48 months . Click here  and learn more about Banpará-Bio.
