Semas opens inscriptions to compose the WG that will elaborate the Plan for the Recovery of the Native Vegetation of Pará
The PRVN will contribute to the reduction of net emissions through the sequestration of Greenhouse Gases (GHG)
Applications are open from today, Monday (12/19), until January 8, 2023, to participate in the Working Group that will prepare the State Plan for the Recovery of Native Vegetation in the State of Pará (GT-PRVN ). Representatives of the private sector, third sector, research institutions and organizations representing indigenous peoples, quilombolas and traditional peoples and communities can participate collaboratively, with the provision of theoretical framework, research and data in accordance with the Plan’s axes of action. The PRVN is an instrument of the State Program for the Recovery of Native Vegetation, which aims to articulate, integrate and promote projects and actions that induce the recovery of forests and other forms of native vegetation, contributing to the reduction of net emissions through the sequestration of Greenhouse Gases (GHG). The preparation of the plan will be coordinated by the State Secretariat for the Environment and Sustainability (Semas).
The State Plan for the Recovery of Native Vegetation (PRVN) should include, among others, the following lines of action: social participation (raising society’s awareness of the benefits arising from the recovery of native vegetation), chain of inputs and services (fostering the of inputs and services that consider assumptions of the local bioeconomy and socio-biodiversity that are related to the recovery of native vegetation), institutional and regulatory arrangement (improvement of the regulatory environment and increase of legal certainty for the recovery of native vegetation), technical assistance and rural extension (expansion of services aimed at recovering native vegetation),monitoring system (structuring of the planning and remote sensing system in order to support decision-making with the objective of recovering native vegetation), research, development and innovation (fostering research, development and innovation of techniques related to the recovery of native vegetation), rural credit (support for the creation of rural credit lines aimed at recovering native vegetation), among others.
It is the responsibility of the Working Group to hold preparatory meetings to identify challenges and opportunities; map ongoing restoration actions in the State of Pará; promote workshops for the construction of the State Plan for the Recovery of Native Vegetation (PRVN) and propose a draft of the Plan.

Entries can be made from 00:00 on December 19, 2022 to 23:59 on January 8, 2022, as provided in the public notice schedule”, emphasizes the Deputy Secretary for Water Resources Management and Climate at Semas; Deputy Secretariat for Management and Environmental Compliance at Semas, Raul Protázio Romão.
