Governor Helder Barbalho will discuss COP 30 with British parliamentarian Alok Sharma.

The head of the Pará Executive, who is in London for a series of commitments on the environmental agenda, made the announcement on social media.

In London, the capital of England, to fulfill a series of commitments on the environmental theme until next Friday (17), Governor Helder Barbalho announced that one of the meetings will be to discuss the probable holding of the 30th Conference of Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 30) in Brazil, more precisely in Belém in 2025.

In a video posted on social media, the governor of Pará informed on Wednesday night (15) that he will be received by British parliamentarian Alok Sharma, president of COP 26, held in Glasgow, Scotland, in 2021, to discuss the matter.

In the publication, Helder Barbalho announced that in the next 48 hours he will have an intense and important agenda to talk about biodiversity, the Amazon, the opportunities of the state, and the commitments of the social and sustainable development model that is being implemented in Pará.

“I had the opportunity to be invited by King Charles III to go to Buckingham Palace to discuss and debate this agenda. In addition, I will go to the British Parliament to be received by parliamentarian Alok Sharma, who presided over COP 26 in Glasgow in 2021. Certainly, one of the most important editions of the Conference, and we will treat COP 30 which, God willing, will be in Belém in 2025,” said the governor.
